About MicroG

MicroG (styled µG) is a free and open-source framework of libraries, services and patches that reimplements Google's proprietary Play Services on Android. It allows apps that depend on the Google APIs to run on AOSP-based ROMs without shipping any non-free Google code.

The project was founded by German developer Marvin Wißfeld (mar-v-in) and is maintained by a global community of contributors. MicroG powers the "for MicroG" builds of LineageOS, the default app stack on /e/OS, CalyxOS, and is a popular add-on for GrapheneOS sandboxed Play Services alternatives.

MicroG's mission is simple: give Android users a privacy-respecting alternative to Google Play Services without sacrificing app compatibility. Every line of code is published under the Apache 2.0 license and can be inspected, modified and redistributed.

This site, microg.cc, is a community download mirror and information hub. The canonical project pages live at microg.org and on GitHub.
